07 maxima questions

I just got a 07 Maxima from my daughter and have a couple questions.
When the engine is cold and I start to drive slowly I hear what seems to be a slight motor knock. I tried power braking and the knock stops. This only happens with a cold engine.
The other thing I have is a delay when shifting to drive or reverse. I have a 09 Murano and it’s not like this.
it has 57k
Thanks for any replies.

Yeah, quite typical of the 07 CVT. Mine does the exact same thing. You change gears, for instance, in a parking lot, while also someone is waiting for you to move out of the way, and it seems like eternity. It is a none issue, for there is nothing wrong with your CVT.

As for the knocking, you need to have all the suspension parts tightened up. These cars of quite heavy; so, after five years, they are going to be a little loose with regard to the play between and among the suspension parts.

As for what you should be concerned about, if they have not been attended to: change out CVT fluid, coolant flush, and change the belts.

Thanks much for the reply. I get the same feeling in parking lots. Will have the front end tightened and service cvt at next pm date.
