Good Luck with new ride. If not back to maxima.
lol, you can't run a fair race unless both cars have turbo=turbo nitrous=nitrous. You can take a ford probe and beat a lambo with enough juice. lets put the 250 shot in my car to even things up and then race. i might go so fast a vacuum will be created in my wake sucking that popcorn right out of your hands!

Get the car dynoed and show us the results. It's the only way. It's too often I hear guys say their car is estimated a certain amount of hp and never been to a dyno. My maxima have almost all the bolt on's there is and I can ony assume how much I'm putting down. I mean I bet a lot of higher end cars for example a 350Z so does that means I have 300hp? Don't think so, but she's quick

The LT5 was an expensive motor to build that was the issue, plus GM could not build it themselves. And finding a C4 ZR1 for "cheap".....Good luck.

I know the LS actually has an aftermarket DOHC conversion. a couple of people where thinking about throwing the VK56 heads on the LS to get the DOHC but it was too much work. But as we all know the cheapest and easiest way to get power is big simple engine with very little sophistication and very few variables.

That was 20+ years ago. This is today. GM has made many DOHC engines since then. They were given help to get the ball rolling, and they decided not to continue it despite the fact that technology was improving and becoming cheaper... Yet they (GM) developed, designed and introduced the Northstar twin cam V8 for Cadillacs during the same time?

GM always put their best foot forward with the Corvette, yet they reverted back to old technology yet continue forward with technology with their other models.

They guy who sold it to me said he can get it in 4 flat if i let the air out of my tires to a few pounds. The biggest issue is keeping the wheels from spinning.

My point is if you had 400+ HP in a maxima... you just wouldn't be able to drive it. It would be impossible to get anything out of the maxima unless you were running slicks. And who is going to drive (illegally) on slicks. especially if you can't even u-turn. Having something with RWD means you can utilize lots of power on street tires.
i dont seem to have a propblem with my 400+hp 6th gen

400hp 4th gen, it would spin until 3rd gear but it was very driveable, that was on 215 all seasons.
