Twentyeggs: Comparison of Corvette vs. Maxima
Less mods and same power... Now i've heard it all... Considering i've been around Corvettes and other cars similar in power and performance growing up in a gearhead family, I'd have to see it to believe it.
But whatever... I know for a fact that your car is not putting down 430 to the ground. There's no way a 300 crank hp engine has an additional 150 crank hp with a few bolt-ons and a cam on the stock computer. I've been around these cars too much over the years to know this. If you honestly believe everything the seller told you, then so be it.
Have fun, be safe, and enjoy your new ride... no matter what the real hp/tq numbers are.

What computer tune does it have? Reflash, chipset, something else?
Do you still have skipshift?
^^^ Im right there with Tbehr.. I thought it was funny when he said it would beat a C6 Zo6 lolz. It would make much more sense to build a Vette than a Maxima for track purposes that's a given. But it's funny to see the look on the guy's face in the Vette when your overtaking him at over 100 miles per hour. As unpractical as my s/c'd Maxima is it's worth it when your leaving what would be much faster cars far behind you, STI's EVO's, Mustangs, Vette's etc. People are like wtf just happened. My car isn't the fastest Maxima on here by a long shot but it has pissed off so many people with what they thought was a faster car it's rediculous.

Oh i'm sure he just simply forgot to mention it, just like the computer tune... which i'm looking forward to getting details on exactly what type of tune it has.
Look see i am not the only one getting these numbers check out these guys

Anyway, have fun with your car. It looks fun. Save up for some heads and a stroker kit. You won't regret it.

I don't remember what they all are...
Guy rattled off a ton of stuff...
Ok mang... You are just digging your troll hole even deeper

No receipts or documentation on any of this?
And all of this work was done to this car and no dyno sheets?
get a dyno and lay this thread to rest is my opinion. I mean if the numbers are there, then the dyno won't lie. If you don't know the mods, it would be worth having someone who knows these cars to take a thorough look at it for you.
Agreed... This thread is going nowhere and is circling around the drain fast.
If your car is a 94 is does not have a chip. The chip went bye-bye in 93. This is a piggyback module. These went obsolete years ago since you can get better results from a flash tune for less money. Also, these are only good for 10-15hp, and that's about it.
*edit*
I really hope that isn't your dirty azz engine bay in that picture. Seeing that nasty mess would been a huge turnoff for me. It's a sign on just how well that car was taken care of.

interesting, So whats the best way to go on this?
I can't answer that since you have more mods than you can remember. Start hitting up some GM forums or go to some meets in your area and talk to some guys running the older LT engines on what they're running, and go to your local drag strip, too. People usually don't mind you gathering information as long as you don't ask them a million questions.
Different mods call for different computer tuning. And I don't know what all is left on the aftermarket for the LT's, since everyone is going LS now, since GM guys started upgrading to the LS as soon as one hit the junkyard from some n00b crashing it. I had a friend of mine put an LS1 into his Z32 300ZX long before LS swaps started catching on with the import scene. There were no motor swap parts back then, and everything he used was pretty much custom made or fabricated or modified. Much more in the aftermarket for the LS now than ever existed for the LT's.

Also, it sounds like that car has a hodgepodge of parts thrown on it. For example, who throws in a huge fat cam in an engine with stock heads? Clearly somebody wasn't thinking...
To sum it up, take the car to a dyno and see what kind of hp/tq curves and a/f ratio you got going on. If something isn't right, the dyno will reveal it, and you can fix/tune/replace parts as necessary. Aftermarket performance parts need to be matched up for them to work properly, whether it's a small block Chevy or a boosted import.

Hmm. There must be a member history here that I'm not aware of, because I'm reading a lot of animosity towards the OP, and he's just casually brushing it off. IDK the 6th Gen forum... just kind of wandered in here because of the funny thread title.
However, this here:
...resonates with me. If a modified car is truly cared for, then the engine bay would be a thing of pride. (T_Behr here knows where I'm coming from when I say this.) So if I were considering a used car, and saw a filthy bay, I'd walk away from that car without looking back.

It's actually the same thing. The term **** is just a shortened version of anal_retentiveness.

the member history your talking about is this. Maxima.org is the first forum site i had ever registered to, and i was clueless to the culture forums contain. So when people trolled me, i took it personally and argued back in defense. when people saw that i had a reaction to their trolling posts it became a sport. I eventually caught on that arguing with these people wont get me anywhere. So im cool with the negativity now, doesn't really bug me anymore. I've learn forums are full of people who get off on making other miserable, arguing does nothing but catch their attention. So yea, i brush it off now, but the history is probably going to die hard. Before maxima.org i used my computer to do homework, and facebook. that was pretty much it for me, so i was a newb like crazy and had a steep learning curve. I've acutally come to like a few of these people through all of it tho, even though they are arrogant and critical of everything. Kinda like always trying to one up your buds out of fun and sport. Like T_behr dudes a jerk most of the time but he's also funny as hell and i enjoy it most of the time.

Ah... yes, there's a learning curve on automotive forums. Glad to see you stuck with it, because underneath all teh funny and teh snark, there's some good info and the potential for some rewarding relationships, such as they are. And T-Behr is a good guy. Honest.
Homework and facebook? That's just another piece to the puzzle. Perfect age if you've the means and situation to bang around town in a 20 year old Vette. Enjoy it, 20 eggs.
Peace.

Come to think of it, if I was ever going to buy a C4 Vette, it would have to be the LT5 ZR-1. Have no idea why Chevrolet abandoned the twin cam technology since it was an obvious step in the right direction.

I'll bring my own popcorn & drink. And watch drag race with c4 corvette twentyeggs (pro driver) vs maxima taz394 engine-built + 250 shot (pro driver). Who win?
FYI: I'm NOT gonna drama/argument/troll/sarcasm on this thread.
Good Luck with new ride. If not back to maxima.
