Maxima is starting all by itself!

My 2008 Maxima engine has started by itself 3 times in the last 10 days. I took it in to the dealer but they could not duplicate the problem. Has anyone else had this issue? The first time I considered that I may have been scatterbrained but the other two times I am positive that I turned off the engine. My car has the keyless start and if I walk away from the car with the key and the engine is on it will beep at me. The car did not beep so I know that the engine was off, yet when I have returned my car is locked but running.

you might be accidentally pushing the remote start. I recommend looking more at the key-fob sticking.

you have to be close to the car for the push button to work.

I would look at the remote.

Not to mention you have to press the brake. You might not even have a short in the switch, you could simply be sitting on your keys the wrong way.

Can the remote start be set to turn the car on intermittently? I had an aftermarket remote starter that had this ability. One night I thought I heard the engine start, but didn't check. Then a couple of nights later I saw the parking lights flashing, indicating the car was running. I then read the manual for the starter and realized there was a key sequence that would set it in a mode to start every 24 hrs.
