Is this my tranny going bad??

Hello everyone, I have a Maxima 06 auto 5spd with 40K miles, My problem is sometimes my car acts like it is misfiring, and I can say that the car stalls whenever I press the gas.
Sometimes this happens in second and 3rd. And when I'm on the highway it's like it looses power and it turns off my cruise control. Another symptom is this happens when my gear indicator ( I mean the letter D as drive) blinks.
Now the puzzle is there is no check engine light on, no check trans light on, and the scanner at the dealer could not read any code.

Any input will be much appreciated and thanks for your help.

A camshaft or crankshaft sensor could be to blame.
Id say its the crankshaft sensor...

Thanks for your reply, I have a question, if the crankshaft or camshaft sensor are bad, should I have an error code or check engine light???

If it is an intermittent problem, it could take a little time before it trips a light.

Update:
ok, I got my car to the dealer, they checked the tranny and they say it is not the problem, they tell me the problem is the ABS ACTUATOR.
Is this posible???? Can the abs actuator make that kind of failure mode???? car still acting like misfire when pressing the gas, on the highway it kicks out the cruise control, the gear indicator sometimes flashes, sometimes in drive and reverse. No check engine light, no abs light, no error codes with the scanner or reader.

its possible that a bad abs actuator will cause those issues. I've never had a bad abs actuator on a maxima but when my abs actuator failed on my ford f250 (I know not a nissan but my experience), the tranny would not shift into properly, engine rpm would stall for no reason, and cruise would shut off. It cause for a very hard driving condition. I ended up unplugging the abs main fuse on my truck as I don't need abs but for your car I would recommend getting it replaced.

also to note, when car is misfiring but no codes, check you main ground cable, it might be broken. (under the battery tray connecting to the transmission housing. If it is broken, get it fixed before it burns out your ecu.

Thanks for the info, in order to check the ground cable do I need to remove the battery?? And correct me if I'm wrong, If I disconnect the ABS actuator I'm bypassing the abs system and my car should funtion normally???
I would like to do this test so I'm sure the dealer will fix the real problem, I have been quoted $2,000 for the repair.
Thanks in advance.
