"2.25" Piping for maximum flow"

i'm no 6th gen expert, but i believe that is stock piping size...you might as well delete your stock resonator and have the same effect (and save $200 at the same time)...or, find a decent 2.5" catback to actually open the exhaust up a little. Check 6th gen classifieds.

am i wrong guys?

a must have upgrade if you want your car to sound like a fart can... hell the stainless steel needed to build that system is worth more than $200 and you getting everything for $182 out the door in the shape of an exhaust system???

all you'll get is a bit more sound. i paid $250 shipped for my ebay exhaust (4th gen) but you're paying less with 2 mufflers! great price, i'd get it. however be prepared for some possible fitment issues because its an ebay special. nothing big but you might have to bend or stretch some things.

meh don't think the OP is after the extra 0-1whp from 0.25" on just a cat back alone. the exhaust is probably about 20 lbs lighter than stock. i'm pretty sure them stock mufflers are heavy as ****.

please tell me your reasoning for it sounding like a fart can with this cat back. and just because its ebay and cheap isn't a reason. it will NOT sound like a fart can AT ALL. its a simple cat back thats slightly less resonated than stock.

the only thing thats farty about any maxima would be a 4th gen with an unequal y and completely unresonated exhaust. never knew a DOHC V6 can sound like a 4 cyl :S lol

not trying to be an ahole but you wouldnt know if there will be an unbearable drone. my old max has a 3.5 muffler and it was a catback exhaust from ebay and it didnt have a loud tone when cruising on the highway it wasnt like the civic fart cans. and the build quality was there trust me i inspected it, it was solid and not only did i play around with ebay exhaust but i also have a skunk2 dual exhaust and that exhaust system is nicer but not by a long shot. plus the price i could have bought 5 ebay exhaust. but talking about exhaust lol i do want to get some greddy ti-c mufflers for my 5.5 gen lol i think i would be the first maxima on the org atleast with dual exhaust with greddy ti-c

As I said before, your car, your $$$. 6thgenblack started the thread with the fallowing statement: "Hey guys I am new here and i am seeking you help plz......" if he already has his mind set up on getting this set up, then so be it... I just tried to help him understand that stainless steal is an expensive metal, welding stainless steal is not as easy as it looks... He will spend $180 on a complete system made out of stainless steel shipped... I am pretty sure the shipping will cost the seller at least $60-$100, then you basically pay about $80-$100 for the system??? lets say that the seller makes a small margin on that item, which brings us to the simple statement that the actual true manufacturing cost on that system between $50 and $70??? come lets be real here, you all know know that for that much you can't even fill up the gas tank on you maxima... So I can only imagine the "quality" of a full cat back system for that price... But again different people different opinions different tastes...

from my experience with a ebay catback i was very pleased but i only bought it for that car cause it needed new exhaust and the car was a POS. but i wouldnt mind buying another if i were on a budget.

i'm not hating on the ebay exhaust...i mean take 5.5 gens for example, obx v2 headers show just about as much power as cattman's, and they are cheaper...but the build quality is questionable simply because it's a guessing game, some people get very good quality, some people get bad quality.

but in my personal experience, every time i buy exhaust parts, i go bigger, even if it is .25" bigger.

i checked on 6th gen classifieds and there weren't any for sale...but it wouldn't hurt to post a WTB thread, you never know what offers you may get.

whatever your choice may be, just make sure you get one from a seller with good ratings and guaranteed quality.

I bought the eBay catback and love it. I bought the 2.5" and it's good and loud. I drive it daily and it doesn't bother me, a lot of that is highway too. I guess hearing your exhaust while driving is drone? If so then I get it to and love it. That's why I put it on the car for the volume and performance. It's not nearly as loud as my 94 formula firebird which had an slp loudmouth exhaust.

One problem though is the steel they use, mine has already started rusting and has seen a little salt this year, not much though, so in the spring I will be scuffing the exhaust and painting, slow the rust, I mean for 185 bucks, I can buy another a year or two down the road no big deal.

I bought this system for my '04 over a year ago, and it sounds great. The only thing that bugs me is the tips are pretty cheap, and tend to get little rust spots on them. They come off easily, but still are a pain. I mounted the whole system in less than an hour, and it fits well.

You wouldn't happen to have any pictures? I have been wanting to do this to my car for a while but I don't want to spend $1100 on a greddy exhaust, But I'm also skeptical of the look, material, sound and longevity of a ebay exhaust Thanks!

Ok I've had mines since sept 2011. Just recently the installation on the driver side exhaust muffler decide to break up. So now the drone installation is coming out of the tail pipe. However I did email the company to see if I would be able to purchase just a single muffler. They inform me that I am not able to just purchase one exhaust. I have to buy the entire system all over again just to fix my lil problem. Strait b.s

We have a relatively high end exhaust shop here, and those guys said the Ebay system is the closest Flowmaster copy they have seen. For the price, you can't beat it. Even if the system only lasts a couple of years, its still less than $200.
