Remote start question

I am very close to buying a 2007 Maxima to replace my current 2000. The 2007 has an aftermarket remote start already installed. The dealer said they would "rip it out" unless I wanted to keep it. I don't see any reason not to keep it, as it seemed to work fine, but when I looked on this forum, the wiring seemed pretty complicated to put something in. The dealership did not have it installed, it came with the car as a trade in. I will eventually want remote start, but I am a bit nervous about the existing setup.

I'm not sure what brand it is. The dealer told me it was a predator, but I can't find anything online that matches what I saw. The fob seemed to have one button and looks like a plastic key.

I'm trying to figure out which is riskier. Leaving the remote start in place or having the dealer remove it and have someone else install something I know. I know which is cheaper

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd say leave it in. Take it to Best Buy or another remote start shop and see what they think.
