i have a 2004 4 speed a/t ive been all over the net to try and pin down my problem but im stuck. lately my car has been having a acceleration problem when im on the interstate some time the car wont go past 80 mph no matter how hard i push it sometime it happens at 90 mph or 100 mph sometime it takes for me to put it into overdrive to get past 80 mph but that doesn't work all the time....im lost

Sounds like a MAF sensor. It's just an assumption because your car wouldn't have acceleration past 30-40km. It's basically a safe mode when you're MAF sensor detects moisture going into the engine. Any codes? If not get a OBDII reader and get a read out, it might not show a service engine light but it might show on the scan results.

why are you going over 80 on the interstate anyway?

i had problems with the car going into safe mode and do 20-30 mph but after i changed the camshaft sensors it fixed those problems. but ill do a scan tomorrow never thought about doing one sense it doesn't show a service engine light
