Intermittent No Acceleration from Stop

Hi,

I have an issue with my 07 SL.

When pulling away form a stop, sometimes it will start to accelerate, then stop accelerating, then after a small delay, will start to accelerate again.

At it's worst, it will jerk fast/slow/fast/slow a couple times, before returning to normal behavior.

Today for instance, everything was fine. I completed the 30 mile commute at highway speeds, then when stopping at the off ramp, and pulling away, it did the no acceleration thing. At the next stop light everything was normal, then at the next stop light it did it again.

Sometimes it occurs worse than others. When it does it, it feels just like it does when the traction control engages and the slip light comes on, however that isn't whats happening, as its normal driving on dry roads and no slip light.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? It was suggested that it could be the accelerator position sensor, but it doesn't do it at all in park or neutral if I rev the engine.

I had that same problem with my 2008 SL. I took it right before my 60K warranty was up, It stopped for a few months then started happening again.

Are you current with all of your transmission flushes?

I got tired of the problem and traded the 08 in Dec for a 13 Maxima.

That sounds like a sensor problem, not a tyranny issue. You're gonna have to have the car hooked up to the dealers computer. Save yourself some aggrevation and get it done.

Sounds like it could be a MAF issue as well. No codes ?

It turned out to be a MAF issue. The place I was using for oil changes had been replacing the air filter. I didn't know, because they charged a fairly low price and it just showed as "full service" on the invoice.

They didn't seat the air box cover properly, and also didn't tighten the hose clamp. Air was bypassing the MAF sensor and causing the problem. Once I took a look under the hood, it was a quick fix.

And I wont be using the same place for service any more.

Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated.
