Anyone tried g37 intake manifold and or g37 throttle bodies?

AS the title says, im looking to see if anyone used them before on their maxima? i'm mostly thinking about them because they do look bigger. And im looking to improve gas mileage i don't rly care if i get performance out of it or not. I figured since it would make the car get more air in it should help it "breathe" better. So i figured an intake, throttle body, intake manifold and bop plate from cxj performance on here would benefit me greatly. any thoughts? im sure i could get maybe 4mpg more at least. since people who bought the blop plate said they got around 32 highway.

none of those parts will fit our 3.5 engine one we cant even fit a g35 vq3.5 intake manifold but we can use the throttle body from a g35 idk about the g37 throttle body highly doubt it tho

I don't think so. The 6 gen maxima have 70mm from the throttle body. It is same as 350Z/G35. G37/370Z only has 60mm. New 7gen maxima only have 75mm. It can't direct fit on it due 7 gen's flange bolts have a bit bigger than 6gen. You need modification on it. Unless you want to make more power and improve fuel economy then click: http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/6...vq35-info.html

That's it.

Doesn't the the g37/370z use dual throttle bodies? And getting that upper plenum to fit would not work. Port and polish upper/lower and TB if you want. Just don't make the lower one too smooth because fuel will pool there if it's not a little rough.

That's way too much money to do that swap. Especially for me with the cvt. I think I wouldn't even come close to the power.

But port and polish of the manifold sounds doable. Wonder what kind of gain it will get me. I could do the thermal gasket swaps too. They said 10hp and 12 ft pounds of torque. That has to get some kind of better gas mileage. Plus the bop and an intake

no mods you do will improve gas mileage. only maintenance will bring it back to stock levels of mpgs

I can't agree with this since I've gotten up to 31 highway with headers, full 3" exhaust, and 3.5" from the filter to the TB.

I would see 26-28 highway with cast manifolds, budget y-pipe, 2.5" exhaust, and stock MAF.

I'd say something next to nothing, more gains can be had with less money. Also, about the swap, it probably be easier since you have a CVT, and so does the 09.

If you've ever seen the engine, you'll know why. It's a dual intake system, as in dual intakes, dual MAF's, dual TB's, then flip it 90º ... that be weird.

A 350z intake (as in intake, not intake manifold, only from the filter to TB) should also fit with some minor modification, since the 04-08 use the same MAF.

No, it's the same thing, that's why it fits.

With some slight modification, it (Z33 IM) can be done.

I've personally never seen an improvement with either of my VQ's as far as engine modifications go, unless that modification is an alteration of transmission/FD/lightweight wheels.

In my experience, my best MPG improver was lightweight wheels, I gained 12-15%, consistently.

I disagree. I usually get a handful of extra miles per tank after a new power mod.
Driver mod helps a LOT, +4 city mpg in my case.

^Agree. Also mods CAN provide improved fuel economy w/ tune. What 95naSTA and schmellyfart said. My Nissan made 34 on hwy and 25 on city. My car have auto. 40s coming soon.

Also check schmellyfart thread have improved fuel economy.

Interesting... Also aerodynamic can provide more fuel economy.

Best MPG improver is getting a car built for fuel economy.
