2008 Maxima - Need help

Hi All;
I recently bought an 08 maxima. It takes forever to accelerate on its own, but if i drive useing the shiftronic, it accelerates just fine, like its a different car. Can someone help me out as what could be the problem. Thank you.

Hook up an.OBD2 computer to it and see what it tells you,if you have any codes on or not.Sounds like a solenoid problem...Have you checked the Transmission fluid?

Oh lol that's right..I forgot about that lol..it IS a CVT..Nothing is wrong with your car.Its a constant variable transmission. You don't feel the shifts because you're not supposed to lol.

Thanks for the replys. I took it to the mechanic and the problem was the throttle body sensor. It was no good. Getting it changed today.

I don't know why some of us said CVT was the culprit. CVT actually accelerates faster than the 5 speed auto. It pulls harder from 0-60 / 0-70ish...it is then the auto 5 speed can catch up and pass the CVT equipped car. But on the lower end, the CVT pulls quicker, then on the top end, the 5 speed auto. You can see examples of this in youtube and drom other member experiences. I've experienced it with a friend who has an 05 in very good condition.

That CVT issue was fixed on the 7th gen. But still lags when you hit 70mph+

I got the throttle body sensor changed yesterday. Now the car works just fine. When I step on the gas, its actually goes now.
