shift lock button problem

Open driver's side door.Right under dash there's a square cover(those are the first set of your "fusebox").
If what you're looking for ain't there, pop the hood and on your left side facing car battery, there's a rectangle black cover close to the battery.Take cover off and check fuses.
Your third and LAST fuse/relay box is also under the hood on passengers side (RH side) on front.Take that long cover off(the one that covers the strut along with the windshield wiper tank and all). There's also a rectangle cover there.Take that off and pull up the fuse box.

This happened (on-n-off then became permanent) to me awhile back. At first, my mechanic tried the solenoid but it ended up with a new controller-unit. This unit is much easier to replaced (than the solenoid) --> cost me a little over $100.

Yes there is a fuse in that rectangular compartment by driver side that is dedicated to shift lock. It did burn once on my car and the shifter was stuck on park all the time. Can't remember which fuse it is, just search the forum or just pull them one by one untill you see which one is bad. Use needle pliers but don't crush them!
