occasional clutter noise when turning

hi guys
i have a 2004 Maxima with 200,000kms. I've only had it 6 months and its a great car to drive. Just lately i've noticed a very occasional clutter when turning and then accelerating. it does sound like the cv joint sound but am not sure. just wondering who i take the car too and how much i should pay if it is cv joints (i have no mechanical ability so won't be doing it myself).

any help or advice would be good!

cheers

I had the same noise on my 5th gen, it was indeed my CV joints . Replaced the axels and it went away. Depending on where you live would be where to take it. I take mine to MIDAS as i have had great experience with them, i also have a personal mechanic who knows my car bumper to bumper... Good luck with it tho

Could be bad front strut bearing. Could be on one side or both. To find out, open hood with engine running and have someone listen to top of strut mounts while turning wheel (remove plastic covers first). If that's the case, replace struts while you are at it, unless struts have been replaced recently. Often bearings are ignored during strut replacement and produce noise on turns, especially in cold weather. Do not use KYB bearings, they will last for 30 days, that's it, go with OEM's. Good luck!
