Garmin GPS
So I've been doing some digging and found that Garmin gets their maps updated from Navteq so JVC, Pioneer and whovever else uses NAVTEQ offerings should be relatively competetive to the kenwood units from a GPS standpoint.

As far as audio quality goes or particular features that you are looking for, that is up to you and your wallet.
