Headlight bulbs

Headlight bulbs
I own a 2007 Nissan Maxima that has a headlight out and local part stores want $100 and the dealership wants $90. Are there any other bulbs that are safe to use? Also can someone tell me if they are factory HID's or factory HIR's?

I can't confirm if this is correct for the 2007-08 Maximas, but if they are like the 2004-06's, look at the writing on the lower corner of the headlight lens.
Halogen headlights say HIR2, AKA 9012.
HID headlights say D2S.
First you have to see which headlights you have. If you have HIR's, then you'll have to get the Toshiba HIR2's, if you have HID's then you can use any D2S bulb, but I'd suggest using OEM brands (Philips, Osram, etc.).

Thank you very much, they say HIR2. I have heard that you can use 9006, do you know anything about that? Do you know where you can buy 9012 bulbs. We cannot find them. Anytime we call the parts store they tell us they are HID lights for an 07.

9006 CAN fit, but I recommend using HIR2's. I confused the companies, Toshiba was the original manufacturer but only Philips are available now.
You can get the Philips 9012/HIR2's at candlepower or Amazon.
