Saggy look after installing Progress springs.
Saggy look after installing Progress springs.
Hey everyone, after a lot of reading and researching I finally decided to install some Progress springs in my 6th gen. The installation was straightforward enough and I'm fairly certain I did it right except for the fact that I completely forgot to change the old bump stops for the ones that came with the new springs (but I've heard that they don't affect ride height at all). However, I am noticing that the drop in the rear was a little bit too much compared to the front. I was reading that the Progress should definitely offer a level drop, but the front is .5" higher than the rear and it's really bothering me.
I've given it about a week or so to settle and have driven roughly 200 miles on the setup and it still doesn't appear to have lowered any more in the front to even things out.
I'm not the most car-savvy guy so if anyone has any suggestions at all, I'd love to hear it.
P.S. I'm sorry if this has been discussed. I've searched extensively for information about sagging with Progress springs and didn't find anything.
Here's some obligatory pics to show what I'm talking about. It's a terrible picture, I'll admit, but it's the only one I have where you can see the sag at all. I'll take a better pic in the morning.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me lol.

I was considering it, but people have been saying it's unwise to mix springs so I was hoping to keep it Progress on all four corners.
Plus, I have seen others on here who have done the whole installation of Progress springs and their cars don't have any sag, so I'm wondering where I went wrong.
I did not change out my struts/shocks, but they seem like they're in good health so I don't think they're the culprits.

I got a wild hair and decided that, since the rear springs are so easy to switch out, I would swap them out for the stock ones again and leave the Progress up front.
Now the car has an almost even gap between the tire and the fender in both the front and the back (the back is .5" higher now) and it has this weird, raked muscle car look to it.
This has just made me realize that the 6th gen just naturally sits a bit higher in the back, so to get a totally level drop there simply has to be a smaller gap for the wheel well in the back.
I'll be putting the Progress springs back on shortly and give up lol.
Thanks for the help to those that gave advice though.
I don't think your car is actually sagging in the rear. What you are seeing is just the height difference between the front and rear wheel openings, it's just more obvious when you lower the car. Like most cars, the front wheel opening is taller than the rear, so if you lowered the front and rear the same amount the rear wheel would reach the fender first. Like you've already seen, if you try to make the wheel gap even front to rear, you will have a raked look. I initially had even gap and you can really see how that causes rake.

Looks like I'll just have to deal with it for now and hopefully be able to afford some coilovers and make my car look as badass as yours.
