Friend's Rear brake parking lights don't work after radio install

I never had this happen before and of course he blames it on me, but he took everything out and put everything back in. I just wired up the radio harness. He put all of it back cause he took it out. I wasn't gonna do that.

Anyway. cluster works. headlights work, and brake lights work but when the parking lights are in the ON position on the dash they don't work.

I told him to check the hazard plug but he said he did and all fuses he already checked.

Did he check the 15amp tail lamp fuse under the hood, in the panel beside the coolant reservoir? a lot of people tend to miss that one.

Pull the stereo out and tape off any wires that aren't being used. Probably the illumination wire (most likely it will be an orange wire) causing a short which is causing the tail light fuse to blow. After you tape off the wire then change the fuse and you should be good to go.

Well it is odd cause like I said the cluster works fine. Didn't get a chance to check it last night cause its dark but will and yeah there is an dimmer ground one I didn't use which didn't go to really anything. I'll check if that is hitting any metal. He said he pulled out the stereo real checked all his wires and went back and same thing but it probably is the hood fuse. He said he checked all the other fuses.

You need to take the stereo back out and put the black wire to ground not to the harness. Aftermarket stereos require ground which Nissan does not have to the stock stereo harness. I learned this the hard way. Black wire to a bolt or screw to chassis.

Stereo works fine and yes I know that lol. The Dimmer ground is touching nothing. I've done over a dozen radios. I know what I am doing lol. Thanks.

that 15 amp fuse doesn't just blow for no reason, recommend rechecking the wiring. That is a pretty big fuse to have blow for no reason.
