My brother in law has an 08 max se and today it started to continually locking itself. The lock signal is being sent whether the car is on or off and whether you are in it or not. So far he has tried disconnecting the negative battery for a while. Has anyone had this problem or have any idea what to do about it?

sounds like a keyfob issue. Might want to get the keyfob checked.
