08 Driver side Front window issues?

My driver side window just recently started to not want to roll up. It rolls down w-no probs, but when you roll it up is is very slow and at different heights it quits and automatically rolls back down like something is binding it. There should not be anything binding it but I am not sure. Haven't ruled out motor going bad. Sometimes it rolls up fine. Any suggestions would be great.

It's your window regulator. What usually happens is one of the plastic pieces on the window regulator breaks and the cable that runs through it comes loose and gets tangled up and that's what makes your window fall back down. It is fairly easy to replace. Here's a how to link
You can buy one off ebay for like $40. If your window still kinda rolls up like you said your motor should still be good.

ahh doesn't necessarily have to be the regulator. I had this issue and thought it was the regulator. I replaced it and it still did the same thing. I lubed it correctly and it wasn't my first time working on a car window. Turns out it was the motor itself. The motor would work but the slightest sticking would cause the motor to bind up and roll back down. I even replaced the rubber molding around the window. I tested the motor and it worked both directions and seemed strong enough to me. Turns out it wasn't as strong as it needed to be. I have replaced 3 motors total in my car over the 9 years of owning it. I highly recommend getting them from NAPA, they come with a lifetime warranty so if they fail again, free replacement. At the cost, it is something worth considering.

po8pimp is right, I stand corrected. If the gear inside the motor is worn out it can also cause the window to roll back down on its own. I would suggest taking the window regulator and motor off the car and start off by making a visual inspection. A busted window regulator is usually something u can see. If it looks fine I would proceed by testing the motor.
