sick of this car

My daughter has a 2006 Maxima which isa total Lemon. Live, learn ang Google. Unfortunatly, we are paying for college and have to deal with this car a bit longer. Most pessing right now are headlights. Passenger side doesn't work at all, none of them. I REFUSE to go back to dealership and am pretty sure I can do this myself or with the help of her boyfriend, who races and has lots of garage equipment. I come from a long line of electricians (4th generation) and work on medical lab equipment frequently. (Lab tech). Can't just call the fix it guy, gotta try myself first. Husband is a construction super (think hammer, not ohms). My problem is I have NO idea which light is what, how many bulbs(low, high, or are they one bulb, and what the h*** are the rest of those lights. I am stubborn and refuse to not try this myself. I don't want anything hightech or expensive, just bright lights that work. Oh, and tag lights. Gotta get the ticket taken care of for that. I'm not stupid, I just have never had to deal with the terminology I'm reading here. After all, I wouldn't expect most of you to know how to type and crossmatch 2 units of prbc's and what someones H&H indicates. Please help. Since the entire passenger side is out, do I need to check a fuse first?

Yes. Check fuses first.
Get a copy of the field service manual, it has diagrams that any competent electrician will understand.

Ok, got into it from in front of wheel, cover wasn't even seated. Had water in it. Now the problem is finding the 9012 bulb. Is this bulb the high and low beams?

Yes. Just as an FYI, the bulb actually never changes brightness, there is a shield connected to a solenoid that blocks some of the light. When you activate the high beams, that shield moves and allows light to pass through.

The large projector on the lower outer corner is the main headlight, which is both low and high beam. This is where the 9012 bulb goes. The smaller light on the inside corner of this headlight is the foglight. It can only be turned on when the headlights are in the on position. The orange lights are the parking/signals. Do any of these turn on at all?
