Ticking noise on idel

When I start my car, it ticks, not tapping. It does it when its cold or warm. It stops though after I have driven it and parked it. I've read it could be timing chains and tensioners, but I have also read that it could be my fuel dampers. Anyone have any information on how to diagnose which one it could be? Thanks!

I had to have my tensioners done and that sounded just like what it was (chain rattling against something) not so much a ticking. Not too familiar with the dampers. Maybe valves...you might want to consider having it professionally checked

Had fuel damper replaced during early age of my car and it did not help the ticking noise. I got used through with it and it did not harm anything. However I am not sure the noise I have is exactly what you have.

If possible then post a video and that might help narrow it down the real problem.

A little OT but the Camaro ticks like crazy at idle, I was told its a common and normal sound coming from the rocker arms or pushrods or something?

My guess would be timing chain/tensioner.... I have same symptoms on cold and warm..... I also use 5w30 mobil1 super syn too & motor only has 38k I am sure its the timing chain/tensioner.

Well today I started my car and it didn't do it while it was cold. I'm thinji g it might just be the standard tick this motor has. It's very quiet. It won't show up on video. But I've had this for 2 months and I am dead set on getting rid of it and getting a powerstroke. I hate everything about this car.
