Recently my motor gave out. I got an 05 maxima 3.5 so I'm thinking of trying to make it some what fast. .. I'm not asking for a 10 second car just maybe like 13/12 second if any... But I'm thinking if a 350z engine would have a bit more potential than a stock engine for a maxima. .. But I need some advice of what to do what would be best how to start any ideas?

350z motor will not work. Its rwd, second 6th gen maximas are heavy as ****, If you want speed get headers intake and a full 3" exhaust, nwp manifold spacer kit, block off plate and nwp throttle body, your car will be pretty damn fast.

You can get a Maxima motor and build it up prior to putting it in. The biggest challenge is not the motor but a transmission that holds up to the power the motor will put out. You could get a racing cam, upgrade your rings and pistons, lower the compression, and turbo it. Make sure you get good head bolts. You could always just get a VQ35HR and drop it in. The possibilities are endless, it is your pockets that will make the determination in the end.
