Motor mount sensors... can they be left off?

Hey guys, searched but didn't find an answer to my question so here goes. What if any ill effects will I see after having left the motor mount sensors off my wifes 2005 Maxima. Had a mechanic change the rear mount and the mount we found to replace it with had no sensor and no way to mount it. He said it would be ok but I didn't like the idea. Car seemed to do fine.
Well, then I realized that the front and passenger side mounts were toast so I replaced them and guess what? The front mount had no sensor and no way to mount mine, so I did what the mechanic did and left them off.

Thanks in advance.

I have also heard that an engine mount going bad can blow the ECM. As in the loss of channel or a blown ECM. Does anyone have the answer. Cause I would love to know.
