What Total Fuel Range / MI/KM per tank do you usually get?
City? Highway?
or Combined?
Also can you run 87 in 6th gens? (gas is triple the cost where I live than most of you and its bs)
*Just doing some research before I buy a 6th gen / 7th gen.
Currently running a 4th gen (had 3 now) looking to hear some actual real mileage numbers.
*Did some searches here but there are things all over and everyones just arguing. Keep it simple and to the point please!

To start, if you're basing your consideration of buying the 6th gen on Gas Mileage, you're going to want to get a Kia. That said, typical 19 around town, maybe 23.5 on highway...If i truely milk every motion out of the car, and stay below 75 on the highway i could get 20.5 and maybe 24.5...but it's like licking a tooty roll lollypop...the world may never know.
05 6 speed, fujita intake, cattman y-pipe, vias block off plate.
For the 4 years I've had my car I'd estimate I've averaged 23mpg using 93 octane. 70mph with the cruise on I get 28-29mpg. Straight city driving, no idea. I have used 87 octane and my mileage drops down a little unless I'm going on a trip or something and it's all highway, then I still get 28-29mpg. , but my typical mix of highway/city gives me 23mpg average. Although ever since I drove it 560 miles one Saturday pulling a trailer with about 1500 lbs on it my mileage has gone up slighty. My last take I almost got 25mpg.

I get around 22-24 miles per gallon on the highway. I say about 80% of my driving occurs on an interstate going between 60 and 75 miles per hour. I hit 4K rpm's all the time getting on the interstate. I do not really push it to the "max"
p.s. 2006 3.5L stock automatic 5sp (I use higher grade gas
)
irrelevant because no driver drives the same.
I don't know what an MPG is because it's only used in the usa and the rest of the world is in L/100km. you can convert my numbers.
if you want a fuel efficient car do not get a 6th gen maxima. 10 year old engine tech, 3.5L v6, what do you expect?
I get 9L/100km on a 90 kmh road
10L/100km highway
13-16 combined usually mostly city
15-20 city.
30+ traffic.
does that help?

LOL Look up the engine. Ever since it came out in '95 it has been on the best engine list every year for a while. Oh and it's in the GTR. Nothing wrong with the vq, it's actually pretty good. The newer the car the more crap they put in it making it heavier resulting in worse mpg.
Yeah, if you're interested in fuel economy, check out the 7th gens or a 6-speed 5.5 gen.
My 6MT lifetime fuel economy (log all the fuel I purchase and odometer readings in a spreadsheet) is 23.4 MPG. I drive fast. 18 mile commute to work, probably 80% interstate, most speed limits are 55, I'm usually doing closer to 75-80.
Beware. The 6MT in the 6th gen Max has a much shorter final drive than the 5.5 gen. 80 MPH is a little over 3000 RPM and gets 23 MPG according to the car's estimates on the fuel economy display. (Dunno 'bout the slush boxes.)
Best I've ever done is 31 MPG by driving as fuel efficiently as possible: 58 MPH, no A/C, mile after mile of deserted interstate in the midwest, pure highway. So you can get decent numbers if you're willing to piddle in the slow lane. With effort (read: fuel economy tires and cruising a steady 54ish MPH), I'm confident I could match my wife's 2007 I4/5AT Camry figures (33 highway, but at 70 MPH).
My worst city mileage is about 18, so the EPA's estimates for 18 city/26 highway seem about right.
