New Member requesting input on repair quotes

Thank you for taking the time to read and help me.

I just spent $3,400 on life time warrantied new transmission only to receive the 3 qoutes below. Thoughts on the costs and urgency of repairs?

Oil Cooler O'Ring $79.60 (was told I should do this first)
Valve Cover Gaskets $616.26
Power Steering Pressure Hose $628.63

Thanks again,

It sounds like you have an oil leak or burning oil, something along those lines? And are you experiencing any issues with the power steering or is this something the shop is deeming "preventative"?

It is not beyond belief that a shop having to perform warranty work will try to squeeze a few extra dollars out of you if they can. In some cases, they are just trying to be sporting and inform you of things they found to be in some form of disrepair or another.

What sort of issues are you experiencing, if any? As for the prices, I assume those prices are for parts and labor which would make them about average, if a bit on the high side, but labor rates here in Texas could be different from Charlotte.

Hm, those prices seem real high to me. It's expensive where I'm at in VA but even still it would cost like 1/2 less on those PWR steering and Valve cover jobs than the quotes you got.

As for the actual repairs, not so sure how those particular repairs would help your transmission but the car may surely need those things done anyway. No way to know without seeing the car so good luck with it!
