Tires that fit

I was recently given a set of 245/55/r18 that are brand new and was wondering if these will fit without rubbing on my 04' SE. I'm in a money crunch and my 245/45/r18s are hosed. Any advice would be helpful.

They should work, but perhaps rub slightly at low speed lock to lock turning

The height of the 245/55 tire (between the rim and the pavement) is 48.8mm or 1.92 inch bigger than the 245/45 tire.

Go look at the car while it has the 245/45 tires on it. Turn the wheels from end to end and see if you have 2 inches of clearance on the top. Since the width of the 2 tires are the same (245) you probably won't have any side clearance problems except maybe at the very edge of the tread because the replacement tires are taller in the curved wheel well.
