07 Max shut off while cruise control was set.

I was riding down the highway with my cruise control set. It sped up on its own and then my dash lit up like a Christmas tree and I had to coast to a stop. I have not been able to get it started again. All of my electrical systems seem to be fine.

Need more info, but sounds like your alternator died. You'll need to recharge your battery as well.

I don't think it is your alternator, I think it is a sensor. The only sensor that comes to mind is the camshaft position sensor. It interfaces with the cruise control. This happened to me as well, just not while in cruise control. Disconnect your battery terminals and wait about 30 minutes. Connect them and start the car. If it starts, put in drive with tiptronic and look at the gear you are in. Then try reverse. If you are in 5th gear you are in limp mode. the sensor being bad will also cause the car not to start sometimes because it doesn't know where the cam is at. Hope this helps.
