Need help, 05 maxima acting up, now not starting

Need help, 05 maxima acting up, now not starting
Thank you for checking this out, hopefully you can help me out a little.
Not sure whats wrong or how to explain, will just go through the night real quick. So I was taking my friends home in my 2005 Maxima SE when all of a sudden i hear a slight click as I'm driving. Immediatly after my speedometer dropped to 0, same with my rpm, gas gauge, and gear display (right below speedometer). The car was still running and i stopped at a gas station to fill up on gas. Once i had gas and tried starting my car, it wouldn't turn over.
Don't understand what would cause my gauges to drop to zero and now the car wont start. Any ideas would be appreciated
