07 maxima excessive gas smell in cabin

07 maxima excessive gas smell in cabin
Ok so I'm not very knowledgeable with cars. Just so everyone knows.
But here is my problem: for the past two years once it starts to get cold out (usually under 55 degrees) my 07 maxima has an extremely strong gas smell in the cabin of the car. No codes are showing up on my dash, and I've had a couple mechanic friends look at it and no one can see any leaks. It goes away if I am driving without stopping. Stop signs and idleing is when it gets bad. Also gets worse when I have my heat on.
Never happens during the summer only the fall and winter.
Please help with any suggestions that I can pass along to my mechanic friends. Thank you
