Hi everyone, new to this forum.
I have an 05' Maxima and am looking for some advice to upgrade stereo system. I can't find any mounting kits for aftermarket stereos at all. Car audio guy said Nissan screwed up a few models and made it impossible to do anything because the aircon, radio, CD player and accessories are all linked together on the same panel and I would have to order a specific "facia" from Japan for a whopping $900!! 😳
Has anyone come across this?
Please help.
The stock unit only plays regular cds, not even MP3 😩. And no aux input either. 😒

 

You can get a double din kit on Amazon.
I bought 1 and have had no problems.

 

I don't think that will work. It looks nothing like the dash I have. All the buttons are part of the same facia. So once I remove stereo there will be no air con buttons or accessorie buttons. It's wierd, I looked up photos of 05' maxima and look nothing like mine but when I look at photos of the Teana it looks like that. It's so confusing and frustrating! ��

Only other option is to cut what you have and it will not look perfect.
