Manual 6th Gens

I have only had 5th gens up till now..Looking into possible next cars.

Are there exact numbers somewhere beyond the (2% produced bs) of how many Maxima 04-07 were sold in Manuals.

I am trying to determine the rarity of 6th gen Manuals...MOSTLY 6.5 gen after the facelift. The last year of manuals seems to be 07. Those that have them please chime in.

I always thought 2006 was the last year for the manual....before the facelift. I'm got an 05 and there's another 05 a few miles from me for sale. Otherwise, get on autotrader and search 04-06 maximas then do the same search with a manual transmission......2% might actually be close.

I think the 06 was the start of the CVT and death of the manual. My buddies got the 06 CVT.

Take it with a grain of salt but according to wikipedia

For 2007, the U.S. Maxima became available with a standard Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) (similar to the CVT found in the Nissan Murano) as the only transmission choice; a manual transmission was no longer offered; however the CVT featured a manual mode

OP may have better luck finding a Altima 3.5 with manual. Those had some sort of manual plus 3.5L combo until at least 2008

^Thanks george it infact does seem that 06 was the last year of the manual. the facelift was in 07 right?
Im not sure where i had read that 07 with the facelift was the last of the manuals (as id want the rare lolz)
I have had a 07 altima in the past; a manual in that car (07/08) would be nice as well and considerable.
2% of sales may seem accurate; i would how ever wager that other "similar" cars in v6 sedan had more manuals tho ( as a % of sales or units total- Namely the Accord and TSX/TL sedans. I just want a 6 speed soo bad....

04-06 6th gen came in 6MT, not many around tho. 2007 was the facelift with CVT, you guys are correct

There is definitely way less Accords/TSX or especially TL's with manual, not even close to Maxima numbers. However, if considering just the 6th gen, it might be close.

No George my 07 Altima was a CVT 3.5...Just meant that having that "car" in manual would be cool too.
@ Stillwell- I was willing to wager that the Accord/tsx/tl had higher numbers in manual than the maxima. Arent all the Type S TL's manual? Theres a bunch of them around me.

As for my Auto-trader search George...it just confirms what i all-ready knew...They're all 500 miles away (majority of them Chicago and east). The west never got its share of them?? They are plentiful in the east (where i DONT want to originate from)

The TL type S came with auto or manual. Guess which is more common?

The auto have sh8t transmission but not surprising, it's a HONDA

I see tons of TL's including some TL-S in my area, they are all auto. Matter of fact, I've seen a manual TL only once. Same thing goes for G35's believe it or not, although there are more manuals of those.

More expensive luxury sedans dont usually get many enthusiast buyers.

Then id say the west got the share of tl-s manuals opposed to the maximas. Stillwell for being at a dealership uv only seen one!!!??
In all fairness its fair easier to find a manual tl here than a maxima i want in cali.
Yeah the Tl auto tranny had a failure rate. All this Bashing...recall cvt auto issues much?
Bmw/Benz/Volvo/Cadillac/Gm/Many more All have had their share of dog years and known issues.
lets not get off topic tho...There has got to be published numbers in some archives somewhere of the production unit numbers.
Other vehicles/forums iv been on have it down to a exact #. Theres a few elite # clubs i would love to join..

^^ Yup, only one. See tons of em tho, all autos. And you're right all brands have had or do currently have issues.

As for #'s....Id love to know but really dont care too much. Its a manual Maxima were talkin here..

If it was a Mine's Skyline R33 that they only made 20 units of....then numbers would mean a lot

Going strictly on auto trader numbers only 2.9% of 04-06 maxima's listed for sale are manual transmission. I looked at a few of those listed as manual transmission and they were actually the auto stick so that 2.9% is probably a little high but we are just talking about the cars that are listed on auto trader.

Recently was looking at new Maxima and had Nissan salesman be very surprised that my 06 manual was in fact a manual. Unfortunately got rear-ended before I could trade it in and it was a write-off. Have just bought 7th gen and am still trying to get use to auto cvt.
