Hey All,

I have a 2004 Maxima 6 speed that has the strangest issue!

From 1,000 to about 3,500 rpm the car makes the strangest noise - it almost sounds like an exhaust leak... or like the engine is inside of the car in the passenger side foot-well. I know it is not associated with the wheel or a bad bearing because as soon as I put the clutch in (while rolling) the noise goes away. It almost sounds like some type of blower. Any experience with this?

ALSO - I am not having an issue putting the car into reverse (6 speed). It shifts back into the reverse slot- and immediately slides to the left into 6th gear. Weirdest thing!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Throw out bearing? Being that the noise is there dependant on clutch action seems possible. When you push the pedal down the noise stops?
