Heat doesnt work at idle..

I'm having a problem with the heat in my car... When I'm driving it cranks... But the moment I slow down the heat cools down. I added more coolant. Maybe not enough? Any suggestions on what it could be?

so was it low on coolant? if it was low on coolant as in the reservoir was empty and the radiator was very low, that will mean no heat

if it wasnt really low on coolant, thermostat is the cheapest and easiest place to start

It was low.. I added more but I see that the level has lowered a little... Maybe there is air in it?

if the coolant hasnt been changed recently there wouldnt be air in the system. if the radiator was low you have a leak somewhere probably

Same problem here. Bleed the system for air that was not the culprit.........Flushed the system and heater core......Kind of the problem......Car at the dealership having the heatercore replaced as I type. Thank God its covered .

Park the car on an incline and top off the radiator. That ensures all the air is out of the system because the radiator top will be higher than the rest of the cooling system.
