New to me 04 max.. Big problems with powerless

Hey guys, new here, and new to nissans in general (ex Honda guy). I bought an 04 maxima 3.5se 6spd a couple days ago for a steal with a known issue which I among other suspected a plugged cat. maf, plugs, coils, fuel pump has been replaced.
Car almost seems like it's in limp mode but it's not, starts and idles smoother then he'll, and runs great at low rpm, but as soon as you put a little juice into the throttle it just smoothly says no.. It has very little power after about 2000 rpm and if revved up in neutral it will rev up when in the car the body cringing sound of (what I would say is a rod bearing) rattling appears very faintly then goes away. But if standing outside of the car and it gets revved up... It sounds like sputtering after a certain point.. So I'm seriously stumped and hoping someone hear might be able to shed light on my situation.
Thanks in advance guys and sorry for the run on of a post but I'm typing in a hurry.

Check your sensors...I had a similar issue due to the ambient temp sensor reading 131°F in 30°F weather

Was it throwing any codes while t did this for you? Mine has no cel or anything so I ruled sensors out but am definitely open to checking checking them if there still in the equation

no codes you have to check the A/C self-diagnostics menu...which you can find instructions for here

Yes that sounds like a sensor issue. I ended up replacing (3) sensors before I was smart enough to buy "code reader".

I then ended up replacing the VIAS which fixed my issue.

It actually turned out to be my rear cat.. Which was my original thought for the power loss, but then I started hearing the noises which scared me. But that's all it ended up being, and now I get to enjoy my new to me maxima.. Which I have instantly fell in love with.. My new f150 has been oarked since I fixed the max lol, thanks for the responses though guys.
