Flush should be 100% new fluid.
Drain is roughly 4 qt of new fluid.

To flush correctly, you need to take to a shop that has the machine to flush out old fluid while putting in new fluid. Can't really do it at home.

A drain and fill is easy and you can do this at home. I would suggest a drain and fill. If your fluid is black, then a flush should be done. If your fluid is still redish, then just drain and fill it.

If you have the 5 speed transmission I do not believe it is possible because the transmission uses a heat sink in lieu of radiator cooler. The 4 speed can be flushed. To flush the 4 speed they would either remove the transmission pan or vacuum out the old fluid. Then disconnect the transmission coolant line at the radiator, put approx. 4 quarts of new fluid in the transmission, start the vehicle and add new fluid while the transmission pumps out the old fluid until the fluid coming out of the coolant lines is bright red color.

Couple/few drain and fills over the course of about a month should do it for the 5AT w/o taking it in whilst saving some. If it's the 4AT, wingnut covered that.

Pniboyzz: If you have the 5 speed the transmission it will use Nissan type "K" fluid. Normally very expensive from Nissan. You can use the following fluids which are the same as Nissan type "K". Toyota T-IV, Aisin T-IV or Mobil 3309.
