I posted a recent thread on here and one of the codes I had was a 1800. The reason I threw that code was because I removed the valve which triggers that code. Once I installed that valve, actually it's a solenoid, the code went away. It never seem to affect the power in my car. If you are down on horsepower, you may be in what is called limp mode where are the car is signaling to you that you have a problem and it reduces the power so that you can get to a garage or have it looked at. If you are having a transmission problem, I do not believe it would be related to a code p 1800

If you lost power, you may have a genuine problem. I have a 2005 maxima which throws P1800 but when I step on the gas pedal and push engine to around 300 RPM, I can hear the solenoid valve click and the VIAS connector operates too. Have no idea why I still get the P1800 but there's no loss of power at lower speeds.
