Timing chain adjuster

Has anyone every checked the timing chain adjuster with the engine still in the engine bay?

I can't really get my hand down there to take the cover off. I assume it is possible, but ya.

this guy is taking the complete cover off.

I skipped through the video and never saw him take the little cover off that is over the timing chain adjuster. I just want to take that off.

I think you can get that off just to get a mirror in there to check the guides. Which can't be fixed once worn.

I tried this weekend to get a socket and drive in there, I couldn't. I have an endoscope so no need for a mirror.
