Need help : tach/rmp drops by 500 rmp while at low speeds

Hey guys i have a 07 maxima with 118k miles. Car runs great minus the strange issue over been having.

While I'm going slow 20 to 40mph and I let off the gas the car will go from 1500 ish rpm and drop to 1000, then back to 1500. There's no loss of power, doesn't feel like it's trying to change gears and no jolt like from the motor.

I noticed it after I fixed a p0345 code which was the cam sensor Bank 2, not saying it wasn't happening before that but if it was I never noticed it

It happens with the ac on and off. I've replaced both came sensors, and the crankshaft sensor. In the process of changing the vacuum lines from the vacuum tank located under the plastic engine cover because I noted one was dry rotted.

I'm lost at this point, I have no codes and for the most part the car runs great minus this issue. Heres a video of the problem so you can see it in action

Thanks for you time, I appreciated it.

Oh I wanted to add that the drop will occurr once then return to its proper rpm until I touch the gas , then it will do it once more and return to normal.

Hi,

Did you get the new VIAS valve?

So I did get the valve and new vacuum tubing, the issue is better but not fixed.

I'm thinking it maybe ( what nissan calls the power valve actuator) which is attached to the vacuum tubing from the new vias

And I'm having a hard time finding this part online , I'll have to go to Napa or autozone.com when I get the time

Thanks for the update.

Is it the Vacuum Switching Valve that you plan on replacing?

Well , **** it .. maxima is sold. I took it to the dealer for a water pump issue , turns our they said my issue seemed from a oil leak in the valve cover that was dripping into one of the sparkplug. Cost to fix 1800 usd. Also they said I needed a timing chain job which was 2500 plus 900 for the water pump. Oh and they wanted to replace both motor mounits at 355 each .

So I'm the proud owner of a 2016 hyundai sonata now.

On a side note I was concerned it was the cvt Transmission that was causing my rpm issue ( so says my normal mechanic ) buy he didn't have the tools to really dove into it. I feel since I was at 199996 miles when I dropped it off and the cvt warranty ends at 120k they wanted to point to anything but the tranny until I drove 4 more miles .

Can't prove it but that's my feeling. Just the fact that it would only drop rmp once till you touched the gas points to it not being a spark issue in my opinion

Thank you for the update.

On my situation, I don't think it's a valve cover issue, as I bought brand new valve covers(you can't replace the spark plug tube seals).

Also, I changed the timing chain and everything on that side of the motor.

Like I said I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the cvt
