Loud humming noise 40 - 70 mph

2007 - 56K miles. A month ago the car started producing a loud humming noise (kind of sounds like just loud road noise) between 40 and 70 mph. Noise is the volume regardless of speed or rpms. Any info/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Jack it up and check for any play. Could be a bearing

My 07 the CVT would hum after being at highway speeds, but it was more like a hum/whine as you revved it up. Was at a dealership several times trying to get it checked while other things were worked on. They never got it up to speed to duplicate the issue, so it was never addressed, traded it a couple years ago, that was one of the reason.

When did you replace the tires?

Sounds like one of your wheel hub/bearing needs to be replaced. I had that issue for a while on my 2004 where it sounded like a roaring noise while driving above 20mph. My local tire shop was not able to diagnose the problem so I took it to the dealer where they found it was a rear bearing. I paid $385 to fix.😧

It was the passenger rear wheel hub, $120 for dealer to diagnose. Should have changed it myself part only costs about $100. Got lazy and let the dealer do it $450. Thanks for the replies to this post. Live and learn, now I know what a bad wheel bearing/hub sounds like and how to fix it.
