After several years out of a Maxima, I am finally back in one as a project car to tinker with. No longer have either of my 96's or 97 and 98.Picked up a 2006 6spd Black on black SE that I have to drop an engine into. Any current recommendations for Y-pipe...etc?

 

Get the Y-pipe custom made.. Make sure you change the High pressure power steering line and other parts thats a PITA when the motor is in.

 

Yes already thought of that,i am also changing the timing chains,waterpump,guides and tensioners on the used engine going in with a lighter flywheel.I am working on the y-pipe add on,just wasn't sure if anyone was making then anymore.Wheels/tires 19's or 20's will be coming as soon as I get the engine swapped out and running,already have a cat back ordered and will be in next week.Then suspension, swapping the junk audio for a double din nav unit and stereo upgrade I have laying in my garage.The car has a lot of miles,but my work has done all of the work to it more or less,so I know its history and whats been replaced.

 

2006? Pray no ABS issues they are a mother on the 6th gen.

 

Sorry mistyped , it is an 05 and I know all of the issues that comes with them.I have worked for Nissan for 17yrs now
I stole this one from a customer through my shop for $200 bucks got a lower mileage engine for $900 with a warranty from a local salvage.
Already have a catback exhaust ,still looking for a decent header/y-pipe,i am still debating doing aluminum flywheel on it.

 

Max is back on the road now,if I can get my photobucket to work will post pics,added wheels,full exhaust,replaced both front cats,deleted rear cat,added double din nav unit,next up full coil overs and lip kit.
