so my 04 maxima starting something strange. when I drive it after the engine gets to temp, only at idle it will randomly miss not constant its like pur pur pur boom pur pur pur boom pur pur pur boom boom pur pur pur like for every 10 seconds of normal sound ill get only 1 miss sometimes 2 at same time but funny thing is I have 0 miss codes just a code state idle air control system rpm higher than expected. only thing iv done to this car is I removed the rail to fix a leaking fuel pressure damper and I bypassed the throttle body and egr coolant lines cause they always leaked. the idle code has been there since last august when I got the car

 

How many miles, have plugs been replaced? These plugs are rated at 100,000 miles, but I swapped them on the 07 at about 72,000 and it made a huge difference in the performance of the car. If they've not been replaced, and you're at high mileage, I'd recommend you get that done. It may not be the exact cause, but may directly solve the problem.

 

bout 178k and im not sure if they been done yet. I planed on doing it in the next month or so

 

so now the miss is constant at idle only will stop missing if I put it in neutral. only thing done so far is I bypassed the coolant lines to the throttle body and egr valve, would this cause a miss at idle only? I plan on changing my throttle body and spark plugs next week got the parts just need a day off. I also thought of deleting the egr all together. but would it miss at idle like red lights cause I bypassed the egr and throttle body coolant hoses?
