Can someone tell me everything I need to know about the stock HID on my 6th gen?

My 07 has stock HID but I always found them to be more on the white side and have wanted them to be a bit bluer. Do I just need the right bulb to get the look I want, or is it the ballast that determines how blue they are? Can someone tell me the temperature bulb that came with my stock HID and what temperature I'd want if I want the bluer look? Can I get the blue look if I go to LED conversion and whose the best manufacturer? Thanks for looking!

Stock is like 4300 kelvin. 5000 will get you probably the purest white...while 6000 gives you a better hue overall, might be the look you are going for. Once you get to 8000 and above, especially with HID, yes it get's blue, but you risk depleting the output. Point being, you may look much better going down the road, but you won't be able to see ****. I'd say stick with 6000 and below. Something to note too with HID, the color and output will change over time What was once 4300 may have yellowed over time (dropped to 3800 perhaps). So if those are 12 year old original bulbs, replace them. I don't think they make LED conversions for this that don't require a ton of work/parts. To go from Halogen (Incandescent) to LED is easy. HID to LED you need to remove the ballast and may have trouble getting a matching bulb for that housing. Better just to stick with HID and be done.

Awesome thanks! Do you have a preferred brand? I see OSRAM and Philips come up a lot.

Osram and Phillips are both top-tier brands. Osram is German, however, the decision maker for me.

Not sure. I wouldn't think so. My Osram bulbs had Deutschland language, markings and flags on the packaging. Never seen that on Sylvania.
