2008 Maxima CVT Fluid Change?

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times. However, my Maxima has 128,000 miles on it. I do not believe the CVT fluid has ever been changed. What are your suggestions? Other than brake pads, oil and tires, I don't think much of anything was done to this car, since I inherited it.

Thanks

Drive it into the ground. 2008, you got it for free, don't waste any money on it. First sign of trouble trade it for $900, it's about all it's worth.

Definitely service it. I don't think they are as bad as everyone makes out.
I have a 2006 3.5L CVT Maxima that has 250k kms (155k miles). Always kept up on the CVT servicing, but at the 140k mile mark the transmission started to slip and behave badly (CVT service was about 10k miles overdue). Rolled the dice and did a full fluid service and ECU reset on the CVT and it came up perfect again.
Look after the CVT with both servicing and treatment and there is no reason it cant last a very long time.

Thanks

Just wanted to come here and say thank you. Even the auto parts store by me tried to tell me the filter was in the pan. Ordered the filter and i plan to change the oil next week. 2nd owner on my maxima 48k miles. Pretty sure it hasn't been done. Ive been hearing some whining almost like a supercharger sound when the tranny is cold. This link was a super big help.

Thx again all.

Did you ever decide to change it out? If so how did it go? I have one that’s been serviced regularly in every other way but no evidence of transmission fluid replacement with 130,000 miles. Scared to touch it but also scared not to!
