Speedometer doesn't work

Speedometer doesn't work

I am hoping someone here can help, my '04 Maxima with 280,000 miles is beginning to fail me. A couple of months ago the ABS module died. As a result the pump came on continuous and ran the battery down. I figured I didn't need ABS so I cut the middle fusible link on the 50-30-30 link in the fuse box by the battery. This should have just cut power to the ABS system. About the same time, actually about 40 miles later the speedometer stopped working. I have been using a gps app on my phone as a speedometer. I finally got around to working on it this weekend and found the ABS Controller fuse in the box behind the passenger headlight was blown. I understand this fuse being bad will kill the speedometer. I replaced the fuse and it immediately blew again. I though maybe the clipped fusible link was maybe shorting so I removed the fusible link altogether and fuse still blew immediately. Can anyone offer advice on what other items are on this circuit to help with troubleshooting?
