Clutch pedal a little soft not going into gear

I drove my vehicle to a friends house and when I went to leave I noticed that it was hard to put my 2005 Maxima six speed into gear. I was able to get it home and in the garage and when I hold my clutch pedal to the floor and put it in first or reverse or any gear it grinds. I went and looked underneath the hood and I cannot see any leakage besides my power steering fluid leak. Upon later inspection I found this hose unattached and it runs to the transmission does anybody know what it is? Do you think that I need a new master cylinder because I checked around the slave cylinder and it is dry.

I seriously appreciate any help.
