New member, 07 maxima 129,000 miles towing a seadoo
So I only join these forums when I have issues with my vehicles i cant figure out, or need help sourcing parts. Since owning my maxima at 42k miles, I never had any issues. I bought it from the original owner an old lady.. it now has 129,000 miles. So I geuss my post and joining reason is to Express my concern, and enthusiasm for pulling my new boat to the lake, maybe I should avoid mountain lakes? And keep it to level ground, and get any feedback on trans breakdown
I am curious what yahll think about pulling a 900 lbs trailer, my 96 seadoo I just acquired. I did a test pull it didnt seem to like steep hills at all. The engine felt some what bogged down. Felt ok on flat ground and slight inclines......And going down mountains (without trailer) has over heated the brakes before on normal driving before.
It has the original transmission mostly freeway miles, transmission shows no sighn of age, but the rest of the car slightly does.
also do most people change the transmissions or get rid of the car for dirt cheap at this age ball park in the case of transmission failure? It would be a tough call if my trans went out soon, due to car value and the cars maintenance has been a lil more needy in its older years. It would be a tough call.
