Cam cap bearing question.

Hello
I am new the forum so please be kind. Fresh from the Acura legend world to the Maxima one. I recently acquired a 2005 SL with 110k. I am getting familiar with it and decided to dive right in with a timing chain job. I picked up a Cloyes kit and a few other things such a mounts, valve covers, etc...The Cloyes video says to put sealant in both passages (see pics). Upon tear down from original factory assembly I noticed that only the outer passage had sealant. In the interest of being extra cautious I decided to get clarification. Don't want to block up any oil passages. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

appreciated. Thank you.

I have never done the job, but I would leave it as I found it. Also, the FSM does not mention applying sealant in two different places.

TD,
Thank you so much for that information. You are the man. The diagram that you supplied, I believe pretty much says it all. The sealing area is pretty clear from it and does match what I discovered upon the cap bearing tear down. For the life of me I just can't figure out what the purpose is of the other channel. Is there a source for the FSM that anyone can assess?

"For the life of me I just can't figure out what the purpose is of the other channel."

Remember, these parts are massed produced and used in several engines. That might have a purpose in our engine, it might not, or it might have a purpose in another engine. At the end of the day, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Follow the FSM and you'll be fine.
