My 06 Nissan Maxima keeps making this noise when I press the brakes and it slowly comes to a complete stop. It’s not the brakes because I know what that sounds like and this is much louder and aggressive. It’s like clunking of sorts. I took the car to Firestone and the mentioned it’s the Right Lower Control Arm. I took it to a mechanic and they mentioned they had a used one for a good price. He put it in the car and I didn’t hear it. Until later that night the same noise came back then it went away. Couple days later the same sound came back and went away. It’s been like this for a couple days now and I’m completely confused to what’s going on. I really need help it’s annoying because I don’t know what it is.
