2005 engine swap with 2007 engine

I have an 05 maxima originally 3.5liter that blew-up. I changed it out with an 07 3.5liter it runs good but it cranks over longer then usual to start once it starts there is no problems..I was wondering if I should change the ecm and put the 07 ecm in the car if so will the transmission still work with the 07 ecm? Thank You

The ECU is not the problem. Pull codes.

Did you scuff off the corrosion on the engine and trans bell housings so they have a clean contact for grounding? Without this, the starter isn't grounded properly.

Might be crank sensor. Rule out codes first.

It could be various things but just because your starter is turning over doesn't mean it's at full torque, which these engines need to fire quickly. I'm guessing the answer to my question is no.

P0335 is the crank position circuit malfunction, p0726 is the engine speed both of them have to do with the crank position sensor do you think it might be cause it is in a different place now cause I had to the oil pan off the 05 on the engine to work with the transmission

No clue. But your ECU is getting bad data from the CKP. Get the FSM and refer to the code in the Engine Control section.

? Should I put a crank sensor for an 05 automatic trans instead of an 07? Wondering cause I was looking and the parts stores aren’t showing a crank sensor for an 07 automatic and the number on my new sensor in consistent with a manual trans and it’s and auto trans...

I would think the sensor would be the same, but I'm not sure.

Update

Here’s what I found the flywheel was hitting the crank sensor so I took it out and went and got a sensor for an 05 automatic instead of an 07 and put it in and it fixed the problem the the 07 sensor is about an 8th inch longer then the 05 auto. Thanks for all the help
