Halogen to HID?

hey guys, recently i bought a 08 Maxima SE, headlights are pretty rough, & halogen, i tried everything from sanding them to using products to maybe clear them up, nothing, so i turn to facebook to see if anybody is selling Halogen lights for the 07-08, nothing as well, all HiD, was wondering if i bought HID headlights with ballast would they work? where would the ballast connect to if it did? i know most maximas have hid so im pretty sure theres a connection for the ballast even on a halogen model

You could get a set of halogens off eBay. Your problem is probably burnt reflector bowls inside your headlights. There’s really nothing you can do about that. It’s quite common with those Hella projectors.

If your headlight lenses aren’t trashed you could attempt to replace the projectors with HID ones. I believe they simply unbolt from the rear once the dust covers are removed. After that you would just need a D2S HID kit with the appropriate relay wiring harness for your car.

Either of these above options is easier than finding a used set of headlights and with a used set you may be getting yourself into a similar situation with having the burnt bowls.
